

Peggy Schneider, born Margaret Bernadette Moran on October 5, 1927 to Michael Joseph and Margaret Droney Moran died peacefully on February 14, 2018. Peggy was raised in Washington D.C., the youngest of three children. Graduated from Notre Dame Academy in 1945 where she was a cheerleader for the all boy, Gonzaga High School. She was greatly influenced by her early years in D.C. during the depression and WWII. As a teen she volunteered at the Knights of Columbus Hall (often dancing with the boys) and visited the wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital.
Her sparkling blue eyes and lively personality caught the attention of Peter Wm. Schneider M.D. when he reported for duty at Bethesda Naval Hospital. They were married in 1952. Moving to Dallas in 1956 they raised their family of five children and spent 49 wonderful years together.
Peggy was known for her energy, empathy and generosity. She was an active member of several civic groups, bridge and book clubs. Her many friends will miss her love and support.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Pete in 2001. She is survived by her children who will forever cherish her memory, Mary Margaret, Cathy, Peter (wife Debbie), Bruce and Greg, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 18th at 5 p.m. to be followed by the reciting of the Holy Rosary at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 19th at 10:30 a.m. at St Patrick’s Catholic Church located at 9643 Ferndale Road.
