Margaret K Spear

Margaret Kelly Spear died on July 24, 2017. She is survived by three daughters: Jane Spear, Tampa, FL, Judy Vick, Fairview, TX, Janet Reeves, McKinney, TX, and two sons-in-law, Bill Vick and Gary Reeves. She has 7 living grandchildren: Allison Knowles, Bo Johnson, Amanda Phalin, Drew Boles, Stacey Thomas, Meredith Humphrey and Trey Vick. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, James Robert Spear; her parents, Leona Mae and William Homer Kelly; her two sisters, Honey Waterman and Billie Heckle, and her grandson, Owen Robert Reeves.

Born in Frederick, Oklahoma on September 5, 1922, she grew up in Oklahoma City, where she graduated from Central High School in 1940. She attended the University of Oklahoma and worked at OU Extension Center while J.R. completed college.

She was a member of Crown Heights Christian Church in Oklahoma City where she was President of the Christian Women’s Fellowship and in Dallas of Northway Christian Church where she was part of the Stephen Ministries. She was a lifelong volunteer; she taught English as a second language and held leadership positions in PTA. She was a good friend to many, staying in close contact throughout her life. Also, she was a loving and caring mother. She will missed by many.

Visitation will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Wednesday, July 26, 2017, from 5 PM to 7 PM. A Graveside Service will be Thursday, July 27, 201,7 at 1 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 PM at Northway Christian Church, 7202 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
