Maria Isabel Ornelas

Maria Isabel Ornelas, 57, passed away May 28, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. She was born July 9, 1963 in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to Jesus Ornelas and Epifania Martinez. Isabel was raised in El Milagro, Matehuala, San Luis Potosi.

She was the mother of seven children, a sister, and a hard working cook for over thirty years at Raul's Restaurant, Tipico's, and the University of Dallas. In her spare time, Isabel enjoyed listening to music, dancing, cooking, watching novelas and her favorite television shows along with spending time with her family. Her family and friends will always remember her as someone with a great sense of humor, always laughing, smiling, hardworking while also being strong in anything life brought her way. This was especially true during her illness.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jesus Ornelas, Sr.; mother, Epifania Martinez; sister, Alejandrina; and her brother, Jesus Ornelas, Jr.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Magdalena Arevalo, Abigail Mendoza, Marcela Salinas, Monica Flores; sons, Gumaro Martinez, Juan Jose Flores, and Christian Jesus Flores; granddaughters, Azalea Gordon, Cataleya Gordon, and Pilar Mendoza; sisters, Estela Tello, Emma Mosqueda, Beatriz Ornelas, Sylvia Martinez; brothers, Raul Ornelas, Jose Luis Ornelas, Sergio Ornelas, and Norberto Ornelas.

Maria Isabel Ornelas will be forever in the hearts of those that loved her.

The family reminds those attending the visitation, sixty-five people may be in the building at one time. Once capacity has been reached, others will be encouraged to visit outside until someone exits, making room for additional guests.
