Maria Gloria Perez

Gloria was born in Donna, Texas on November 9, 1945, where she was raised as part of a migrant worker family. She lived in Texas, Colorado, and Nebraska before settling in Lubbock, TX where she completed her GED and graduated with Honors as a Computerized Office Specialist from Lubbock International Business College, obtaining Dean’s List recognition all semesters.

Gloria worked at many jobs during her life to help provide for her family; she was a strong example for her daughters, and a great friend to many. She loved Christ most of all and had a very strong faith in her Lord & Savior; it is this faith which helped her get through life’s many difficult times.

She loved her family & friends, enjoyed meeting new people, attending church, caring for animals & plants, and she had a heart for helping others in any way she could.

In her retirement years she was able to relocate back to Texas and live with her daughters before moving to St Joseph’s assisted living Residence in Dallas. While living there, she was always sharing God’s love with & helping others. She also enjoyed socializing with the other residents, participating in activities, texting/talking to her friends & family, and taking care of her “matitas” (little plants).

Gloria was peacefully called home on June 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Jesus Perez; Daughters, Sylvia Rendon & Billie Jo Edmonds; Parents, Leonel C. Ramirez & Refugia (Ruth) S. Gonzales; and Grandparents, Abundio & Guadalupe V. Savedra.

She is survived by her Daughters, Carolina Gonzales & Esther Maldonado. Grandchildren, Merisa, Martin, & Michael Guerrero; Aaron & Matthew Munoz; Aaron Jessie Gonzales. Great-Grandchildren, Micah Harris; Michael, Xavier, & Mason Guerrero; Brooklyn & Camila Gonzales; Roman Aaron Munoz. Siblings, Rosye G-Dingle, Raquel (Rocky) Castillo, & Ramiro (Ronnie) Gonzales.

Gloria is much loved & will be missed by all who knew her. Our loss is Heaven’s gain (1 Thes. 4:13-18).

Funeral arrangements will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Sparkman-Crane Funeral home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas TX 75218.
