Maria Dolores Urzua entered our Lord's Kingdom on April 12, 2016. She was born on May 3, 1935 in Atacheo, Michoacán, Mexico. Affectionately known as "Lolita" by her family and friends, she lived a long life selflessly devoted to her family, our Blessed Mother Mary, and our Savior Jesus Christ. When Lolita wasn't helping to raise one of her 3 grandchildren or 4 great-grandchildren, she could be found in her kitchen cooking a meal for her entire family or gathering used clothes and household items to give away to those in need. Lolita's famous homemade tamales and frijoles rancheros will be missed, but not as much as her infectious laugh, selfless spirit, and tender heart. We have peace knowing she now lives in Paradise with her beloved husband, fondly known as "Ocho".
Lolita was preceded in death by her parents, Trinidad and Amada Ramirez, her beloved husband, Rodolfo Urzua, lovingly known as "Ocho", great-granddaughter Angel Grace Caliendo, and brothers Raphael, Javier and Miguel Ramirez. She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Alvarez (Gilberto Alvarez), and son Michael Urzua. She is also survived by her 3 grandchildren: Claudia Caliendo (Jerry Caliendo), Cristina Judah (Nick Judah) and Luis Miguel Alvarez, 4 great-grandchildren: Jessica Caliendo, Julian Caliendo, Giuliana Caliendo and Mila Judah, sisters: Maria de la Luz Maldonado, Elisa Becerril, brother Trinidad Ramirez, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church (600 N. Jupiter Road) in Richardson from 6-8PM on Monday, April 18, 2016. A Vigil will be held and the Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7PM.
