Sue Bowling Heraty passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on 9/16/2026, Sue was an exemplary daughter, sister, wife, and mother. Sue was a native lowan who became a lifelong Texan. She attended Hillcrest High School. She met the love of her life Tim Heraty at SMU in 1956. They married in 1957. Tim was a USAF officer and they soon left for Japan where they were stationed at Itazuke Air Force Base. She described this time as some of the happiest years of her life. During this time, the couple found their love for travel that extended throughout their almost 60 year marriage. They started a family in Japan with the birth of two sons Tim and Steve. The family grew upon their return to the states with Tom and Jill. Family was extremely important to her. She was the daughter of Carlyle and Gertrude Bowling and sister to Sally. She adored her parents and sister. She loved her extended Heraty family and hosted many holidays. She loved horses, dogs and cats. Sue had a business acumen and was a collector of art and antiques. She will be forever in our heart.
