He received his formal education from schools in Dallas, Texas. He joined the U. S. Marine Corps and served until he was honorably discharged.
In 1973, he was blessed with the birth of his only child, daughter, Sharonda Renee Agent. Mark was outgoing, friendly, giving and always willing to help others. He never met a stranger and could remember everyone he met. He was preceded in death by his father, Leodis Hammond; and sister, Charley Mae Wadley.
He leaves a loving and devoted family to cherish his memories: mother, Doris Jean Wadley Hammond; daughter, Sharonda Renee Agent; sisters, Karen Hammond Hamilton and Brrina Hammond; brother, Bradd Hammond, grandchildren, Robert and Ellissia Agent; great-grandchildren, Curtis and R’Mani Anderson; uncles, Aubrey Hammond and Samuel T. Johnson; aunt, Myrtle Faye Webbs; nieces, Erika Combs and Ariyanna Curtis; nephews, Tarik Combs and Adrian Curtis; a host of cousins and many, many friends.
