Dr. Martha Jean Bradshaw passed away April 30, 2025, at Walnut Place Senior Living Community in Dallas.

She was born March 25, 1949, in Dallas to Joe and Alice Melton, and was a 1966 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. She graduated in 1970 from the Baylor University School of Nursing and was a member of the marching band. Later she received a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Most of Dr. Bradshaw's professional career was in nursing education. She served on the nursing faculties of Grayson College in Denison, Texas, the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia and Baylor University in Dallas where she retired as the Interim Dean.

Dr. Bradshaw was a long-time member of First Baptist Dallas and sang in the choir. She is survived by her son Carl Bradshaw of St. Louis, Missouri, sisters Marianne Woody of Dallas and Elaine Landeene (Brian) of Cheney, Washington, four grandchildren, ten nieces and nine nephews. She was loved and respected by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the caregivers at Walnut Place Senior Living Community. Dr. Bradshaw will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas, TX 75225. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
