Martha Jane Clayton

Martha Jane Clayton, née Hughes, 85, of Murphy, Texas, passed away on March 4, 2024. Born on September 22, 1938, in Coffeeville, Mississippi, she was a beacon of benevolence and grace throughout her life.

After graduating from Coffeeville High School, Jane pursued a career in nursing in Memphis, Tennessee, a testament to her lifelong commitment to nurturing and caring for those in need.

A dedicated wife, mother, sister and friend, Jane is survived by her children, Garth, Mark and Jennifer and by siblings, Ralph Wayne Hughes and Amanda Sue Humphreys in Mississippi, and Ann Fife in Utah. Jane joins her husband, Andrew Cooper Clayton, Jr., to whom she was devoted in marriage for over 40 years. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed every day.

Family, friends, and those touched by Jane’s generous spirit are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. This will be followed by a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

Jane Clayton's enduring legacy of compassion and selflessness will continue to inspire and influence those who knew her. Her memory will be cherished in the hearts of her family and many friends.
