Martha was born on May 14, 1922 in Shreveport, LA to Willett and Mattie (Dunlap) Hickman. Martha grew up in Dallas graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School and TSCW (TWU) with degrees in both art and math. She used her talents in the classroom teaching art in the public schools and math for many years at Hockaday.
Martha and Charles were involved in chartering of Midway Hills Christian Church later becoming members at East Dallas Christian Church. Martha was full of love for life. Not only was she a loving wife and mother, she was a loyal friend, an immaculate seamstress, enjoyed playing bridge, and loved square dancing with the Swingin' Saints. Her family and friends will miss her loving spirit and sweet demeanor.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, after 69 years of marriage; survived by one daughter, Susan Mosty (John), 2 grandsons, Michael (Raegan), Marshall (Trina), and 5 great grandchildren, Gavin, Gage, Garrett, Kaitlynn, and Landon.
