Marvin Lynn Wise was born July 20, 1934 to Nathaniel and Marie Wise in Waxahachie, Texas. He left his earthly home November 4, 2018.
Marvin grew up in Dallas where he attended Forest Avenue High School and lettered in football, baseball, and track; he graduated in 1953. He joined the Dallas Police Department in 1959 where he devoted 20 years of service; starting out as a foot patrolman, and working his way up to detective in Vice and Intelligence before retiring from the force in 1979. For the next ten years
Marvin was a private investigator and owned his own investigation company, M.L. Wise Investigations. Marvin appreciated many things in life including celebrating Christmas and Thanksgiving with his family, along with their family crawfish boils. He enjoyed reading the Dallas Morning News cover to cover and listening to “finger-popping” good music. But Marvin’s real joy in life was his late wife Bonny who he absolutely adored and always called his “Baby”. He loved spending time with his dog Honey and participating in sports trivia. Marvin had numerous hobbies including: gardening, raising chickens, fishing, collecting antiques, and buying and reselling various types of items.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; Nathaniel and Marie Wise, Devoted wife; Bonny Gayle Wise, and loving son; Mark Wise. He is survived by his loving daughter; Shelly Coleman and Stacy Shelton, Grandchildren; Jonathan and Tyler Coleman, and Great-Grandchildren; Lane, Ace, and Sunny Jane.
