Mary Gaye Wood Byrd born October 12, 1914 in Copeville, Texas passed away February 18, 2013 in Dallas, Texas. Preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her son, Chris, and her daughter-in-law, Martha, her parents, Claude and Elizabeth Wood, and her sisters, Faye Wilson and Dot Line. She is survived by her children, Michael, Tim, and Elizabeth; and her grandchildren, Jamie, Brian, Jacqueline and Madeline, and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Gaye was raised in Whitewright, Texas and a resident of Dallas for over 70 years. She worked in advertising and at Sears Roebuck. Mary Gaye married Bill in 1947 and was a Charter Member of St. Monica Catholic Church. She was a true Southern Lady and a Yellow Dog Democrat. Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Hill Mausoleum Chapel.
