Mary Lou Fortenberry

Mary Lou Fortenberry, age 83, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013. She was born in Windom, Texas, on June 2, 1929, to the late Charlie and Cora Cornelius. After service of 21 years there, she retired from Mesquite ISD in 1997. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband-Alvin Fortenberry, five sisters: Lottie, Lois, Pauline, Opal, & Jewel - - three brothers: Fred, Earl, and Roy. Mary Lou is survived by her sons, Gary Fortenberry and wife Debbie, Tim Fortenberry, & Kyle Fortenberry and wife Sherri; Grandchildren: Clint, Brad, Heather, and Erika and 1 great grandchild, Grayson, sisters: Charlene Smith and Margia Hartman, and very close family friends, Mike and Judy Delaney. In addition to her surviving 4 grandchildren, she is rejoicing in reuniting once again with her first-born grandchild, Lance, in Heaven. Spending time with her family and friends was her greatest joy. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be at Grove Hill Funeral Home in Dallas on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the Grove Hill Chapel. Burial to follow at Laurel Oaks Cemetary in Mesquite, Texas.
