Mary J Griffin

Mary VonDette Griffin was born September 27th 1919 in Rifle, Colorado to Fred VonDette Sr. and Elizabeth Ball. Mary went to be with the Lord in Dallas, Texas on September 6th 2014. Mary spent much of her life in her hometown of Rifle. Mary loved the mountains and she loved people. She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. Children were drawn to her and she also had a great love for animals. Many of her children’s friends called her mom as well. Mary positively impacted the lives of all those she touched. Mary moved to Dallas in the 1970’s where she lived the remainder of her life. Mary was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Garland, Texas where she volunteered for many years in the nursery. Later she joined Lake Highlands Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas where she continued to share the joy God has given her. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: A.J, Fred Jr., Bob and Tom VonDette. Mary is survived by her husband of 39 years Louis Griffin; children: Robert and William Hasselbush, David, Doug, Deborah and Donald Griffin; grandchildren: Randy, Kristi, Paula, Chris, Jericho, Jordan, Sage, Jacquelyn, Austin, Bethany, Rebekah, Stephen, Scotty, Tasha and Codi; nineteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held, 10:00 AM, Friday, September 12, 2014, Lake Highlands Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
