Mary Ona Holt

Mary Ona ( Hicks ) Holt , 97 , went home to the Lord on 2-11-2014. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Harold Duckworth Holt, father, Walter Scott Hicks, mother, Allene Hamilton Hicks, brothers, Lloyd Henry Hicks and Edward Morris Hicks .Mary is survived by children: Gloria Jeanne Holder, Patricia Eileen Powell & husband Gordon, and Robert Scott Holt & wife Kathy; grandchildren: John Holder, Laura Holder, Jennifer Powell, Karin Porter, Stefani Simmons, Cassie Holt, Sara Boukhari & Joseph Holt; seven great-grandchildren and numerous cousins. Mary graduated in 1934 from Forrest Ave High School in Dallas. She worked 20 years as a secretary for the City of Dallas in Public Works, Water Department, and Dallas Police Department. She was a lifelong member of South Dallas Christian Church, Urbandale Christian Church in Dallas, & East Ridge Christian Church in Mesquite. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
