Mary Marsden Kindig died peacefully in her sleep, March 14, 2022. She was born in Ocala, FL, in 1926 and led an active childhood. She often talked about the vaudeville shows and performances of acrobats that she would then try to recreate at home. She graduated from Ocala High School and began her work life at the Ford Motor Company. She was courted by her husband John (Jack) and her family life began. She spent most of her life devoted to taking care of her husband and four daughters. Her love language was in cooking, baking, sewing and keeping an immaculate house. Her Sunday dinners are treasured memories. It seems serendipitous she passed on Pi Day as her pies were second to none.
She was a devout Catholic and ours was one of the founding families at St Pius X parish in east Dallas. She served many years on the altar society and women’s guild. She worked and made many friends in the catalog department of Sears Roebuck in Casa View for 17 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and recently blessed as a great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) Kindig, and eldest daughter Mary Ann Kindig. She is survived by daughters Theresa Rynell of Garland, Shirley Francis of Carrollton and Kristine Mossinghoff of Monmouth Junction, NJ, grandchildren: Julie Rynell, Jennifer Rynell, Ellen Francis, JC (and Beka) Francis, Amanda and Alexandra Mossinghoff and great grandson Henry Francis. Many thanks to the sweet caregivers at Silver Creek in Garland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials/donations can be made to Catholic Relief Services at www.crs.org
A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 10am at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, TX.
