Mary Gonzales Leal

Born September 27, 1958, in Roby, Texas, to Ovidio and Teodora Gonzales, Mary was the eldest of eight siblings. She embraced her role as the family's confidant and guide, always ready to listen and offer wise advice whenever it was needed. Thoughtful to her core, she always put everyone’s needs before her own and never asked for anything in return.

A devoted daughter, Mary, served as the primary caregiver for her parents. She was an intelligent, beautiful, and considerate woman who will be most remembered for her gift of storytelling, her incredible memory for detail, and the unwavering strength she provided to everyone she loved. Above all, Mary had an abundance of love for her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world.

She is survived by her parents, Ovidio and Teodora Gonzales; her children, T.J. and wife Nicole, Alex, Vivian and significant other Gabriel; and her cherished grandchildren, Gabriel and Lincoln. She also leaves behind her siblings, Mary Alice, Paul, J.R., Nina, Manuel, Raul, and Henry, along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Susana.
