Mary Gene Florence Ness,died May 23, 2011 at the age of 66. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who fought the good fight till the end with pulmonary fibrosis. A teacher at heart she taught high school math in Lubbock, Dallas and Plano ISD for 30 years. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 1967, and received her masters of education degree from the University of North Texas. Preceded in death by her father C.E. Florence Jr., survived by her mother Mary S. Florence, brothers Joe and Ed Florence, husband Norman Ness Jr., son Norman Ness III and his wife Karla, daughter Meredith Appelt and her husband Robert. Grandchildren Analise, Oliver, Wyatt and Morgan along with a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday 6:00-8:00 PM at Sparkman-Hillcrest. Funeral Friday 2:00 PM at Park Cities Baptist Church, Ellis Chapel.
