

Pat was born in Schenectady, NY on November 27, 1952, to Joan Patricia and George Alan Ludwig. She graduated from Niskayuna High School, where she excelled on the ski team and in the choir. She continued to receive a degree in Psychology and minor in Music from The University of New Hampshire.
Pat married Robert Steven “Steve” Tarkington on January 15, 1983. As a devoted spouse of 40 years, Pat lovingly stood by Steve through thick and thin. Their bond was a shining example of love's strength and endurance.
Mother and grandmother (Honey) were roles Pat adored and embraced with unending joy and love. She treasured every moment spent with her daughters and grandchildren, creating beautiful memories that will be cherished by them forever.
As a sister, Pat was a pillar of strength and a confidante to her siblings. She shared a unique and unbreakable bond with them, offering support and care through every triumph and challenge they faced together.
Pat's passion for life was evident in professional work, hobbies, and interests. From decorating, gardening, music, spending time with her family, and traveling. She was a professional businesswoman who loved providing for her family. Her work ethic was unparalleled, and she never shied away from any challenge that work or life presented her with. She found joy in bringing happiness to others and making the world a better place.
Pat is preceded in death by her loving mother, Joan Patricia Ludwig. She is survived by her father, George Alan Ludwig; husband, Steve; daughter’s, Casey Gross (Tim) and Hannah (Steve); grandchildren, Cameron, Margaret, and Carter; siblings, Susan Ludwig-Peyron, Barbara Leonard, Michael Ludwig, and Constance Pappas; brother and sisters-in-law, Molly Moller (Rick), Marcus Tarkington (Leslie), Harry Tarkington, and Cathy Tarkington; along with many adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 31st, 2023 at All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas. Entombment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3232 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220, at 1:00pm. St. John building, Section: East G; Tier: East Side; Crypt: 103D.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Pat’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or American Heart Association.
