Mary Louise Tillery

Mary Louise Tillery, originally from Knoxville, Tenn, was born on May 21, 1935 and died on January 14, 2013. She moved to Texas to attend Baylor University in l951. Married Dr. G. Weldon Tillery in December, 1957 at Grace Temple Bapt. Church in Dallas. She was a gracious host and for many years enjoyed entertaining friends in their Dallas home with elegant dinner parties. Their love of travel took them all over the world; two of those years were spent living in Saudi Arabia. Mary’s natural beauty was only exceeded by the beauty of Christ shown in her life through the many charitable & civic organizations she supported. She was especially proud of the Dallas Opera where she and Weldon served as co-chairman on the Dallas Opera Guild, as well as serving many years on the Dallas Opera Women’s board. She also held close to her heart the Shakespeare Club, The Dallas Museum of Art League, and the time spent serving on the Women’s Council for the Dallas Arboretum. Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Loy. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Dr. G.Weldon Tillery. Services will be Saturday Jan. 19 at 3PM in Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel. A greeting reception will be held at 2PM at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Stewpot % First Presbyterian Church, 408 Park St. 75228.
