Mary "Mary Kay" Kathryn Wiggins was born on August 28, 1937 in Dallas, Texas to Bryce and Esma Dobbs. Kay went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2021 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 84. She was the youngest of two children. She loved her sister, who she called June Bettye who proceeded her in death October 22, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents Bryce and Esma Dobbs, sister Bettye June Walker and numerous other family members and friends.
She grew up in South Dallas, and took much pride in the fact that she used to live so close to Fair Park. The State Fair of Texas was always one of her favorite places and it was where she liked to call home. She moved to Las Vegas in 1990, and worked at Caesar’s Palace for 28 years. She was deeply loved and appreciated by many of her coworkers. Most of them lovingly called her Momma. She adored Elvis, word search puzzles, Julio Iglesias, Coca-Cola, her morning honey buns, owls, the Andy Griffith show, humming birds, flowers, really big purses, her cats, Joel Olsteen’s sermons and books, and slot machines. Her greatest joy in her life though was her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and they were her biggest accomplishments.
Kay will always be remembered as a remarkable strong woman, a faithful worker, a dedicated mother, and the best grandmother. She has made a mark in all of our lives for the better and our world will never be the same now that she is not here. The family takes great comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven with her Lord and Savior and will walk on streets of gold and be with the love of her life Raymond Vicks.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Frankie Root and wife Bridget, daughter Carol Wilson and husband Calvin, daughter Debbie Parker and husband Rick, daughter Leeann Hayden and husband Dave, grandchildren Krista George and husband Stephen, Donna Strebeck and husband Tyler, Kolinda Root, Chris Webb, Daniel Webb and wife Lauren, Brandon Parker, Sam Martillini, Kelli Lebsock, Richie Jenkins, Bryce Hayden and wife Kamrin, Ricki "Ms. Rick" Parker, Constance Parker and husband Korey, Frankie Root, Samantha Lopez, David Wilson, Leah Fischer and husband Michael, great grandchildren Dylan, Ashleigh, Jessica, Hudson, Evelyn, Tinley, Mia, Charlie, Devon, Naimen, Korey, Kasandra, Isaiah, David, Xavier, Jose, Lucas, Colton, Cassie and Alex, niece Kelly Gardner and husband Jack and daughter Rachel and nephew Terry Watson.
