He left home when he was 11 years old seeking work and making his own way.
He mastered the skills of being a tailor by working at various seamstress and tailor shops. He also became an apprentice barber during his early life. He enlisted into the Army as a Corporal on April 8, 1943 and part of WWII in Normandy, Germany. He was honorably discharged with several medals under the 71st Fighter Wing Squadron.
He met the love of his life and married Maurilia Fuentes to this union they had four children; Mary Gutierrez, Estella Martinez, Edward Meza and Efrain Meza; a grandfather, great grandfather and a 5th generation great great grandfather.
He was a hard worker in various jobs and became a machinist for Aviall Services a Boeing Company with which he retired. Mauricio passions were cooking and gardening he also he loved to play the saxophone and mariachi music.
He is survived by Mary Gutierrez and Estella Martinez and proceeded in death by his wife Maurilia Meza and sons Edward Meza and Efrain Meza and Grandson Ruben Martinez.
