Maymarine Jackson Harwell was born 5/23/22 in Giles County, Tennessee and went to be with our Lord on January 22, 2013. She was a very loving and giving person, but most of all, a great Mother, grandmother and friend. She was known as May to her friends, Mother to her children and Mimi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
May attended Giles County Schools and moved to Michigan with her sister to live with her aunt and uncle during World War II. She and her sister, Pauline made parts for B-52's in a Ford plant converted for that purpose. After the war she returned to her home in Pulaski, Tennessee where she met and married Olon B. Harwell from Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. They moved to Texas in 1947 for job opportunities and raised their four children in Dallas. May worked at Dallas Independent School District and retired from there in 1986. She was an active member of Bethany Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove and later First Baptist Church of Downtown Dallas, several social clubs, and loved to travel. She moved to Fate, Texas in 1999 and became a member of Fate Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil David and Vera Elizabeth (Shelton) Jackson; one sister, Pauline Owens; three brothers, Clay, Benton, and Thomas Jackson and her only son, Steve Harwell. She is survived by three daughters and their families; Linda and Dave Reynolds; Linda's daughters, Megan Smith, Joanna Sturgis and grand-daughter Caroline.
Janet and Charles "Sam" Samford and their children; son, Charles Samford, Jr. and wife, Jessica; their children, Peyton Claire and Parker Charles Samford, daughter Kathryn "Katie" Marie Samford White and husband, Paul White; their children, Evan Paul and Elijah Graham White.
Suzy Reynolds and Kelly Wolfe and Suzy's sons; Brian Ross Parnell and wife, Dani; their sons, Beckett Rayne; Datcher Rylan, Jarred Ryan Parnell and his, wife Briana Parnell.
Daughter-in-Law; Joan Harwell and grandson, Benton Duane Harwell. Grandson, Clint Wagoner. Nephew, Jerry Owens and his wife, Lucy; their children and grandchildren.
Pallbearers serving will be Charles Samford, Jr., Jarred Parnell, Brian Parnell, Benton Harwell, Paul White and Monte Thornburg.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or American Heart Association.
