Mindy Cowger Narvaez of Dallas, Texas passed away on October 25, 2020, at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She was born in Kansas City, KS, on October 7, 1969, to Kay C. Cowger and Gary L. Cowger. Mindy graduated high school from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, OH, where she excelled in track as a top sprinter in the state of Ohio.
Mindy’s education continued at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Advertising in 1992. While at SMU, Mindy joined Gamma Phi Beta, where she served as Treasurer, she met the father of her children and cultivated many enduring friendships and precious memories she held dear.
Upon the birth of her daughter, her passion was to be an extraordinary mother. She chose to dedicate her life to her family and over the next several years welcomed two sons. Mindy was a talented soccer mom and was always involved in all the activities of her children while they attended school, so much so that she managed some of their soccer teams.
As her children grew older and began to attend college, Mindy became excited for the new opportunities life presented her. She went back to SMU to obtain a certification as a Paralegal and she also received her Personal Trainer Certification from the Cooper Clinic.
She truly loved the beach and one of her favorites was Playa del Carmen, where she vacationed with her family. She was an avid cook, runner, and dog lover. Mindy enjoyed a great political discussion as much as she enjoyed listening to music or watching a funny TV show.
Mindy leaves her children and family with the legacy of a kind and loving heart, one that loved deeply and was loved deeply in return. Her children have been gifted with her knowledge, her humor, and a capacity of love that they will teach their children. She will be forever loved and never forgotten by all who have loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sydney Narvaez; sons Alexander Narvaez and Mark Narvaez; her parents Gary and Kay Cowger; her brother Christopher Cowger; former husband and father of her children Hector Narvaez; and many family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 1, 2020, from 4-6:00 pm at Sparkman-Hillcrest in Dallas, TX. There will be a private funeral service held with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.sparkman-hillcrest.com
