Melissa Dawn Hutchison

She made the world brighter when she came into the world on January 20, 1965 to join her parents Joe and Faye Marek and three older sisters, Marilyn, Melanie and Melinda. Melissa grew up in Garland where she became involved in softball and band as she got older. Right after high school, Melissa married Gary Hutchison on July 9, 1983. Melissa and Gary welcomed two children to the world, Jordan Lee in 1992 and Jason Allen in 1994. After raising the two wonderful young men, Melissa and Gary were promoted to the roles of “Mee Mee and Paw Paw” when they welcomed three grandchildren, Jaden Allen in 2014, Rosalynn Elaine in 2019, and Julianna Marie in 2022. Melissa loved spending her time as a devoted daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother and grandmother.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Faye Marek and sister Marilyn Marek Schroer. Melissa is survived by her husband Gary, her sons Jordan and Jason (wife Marley), daughter Rachael (husband Chris), sisters Melanie and Melinda (husband Ernie), and grandchildren Jaden, Rosalynn, and Julianna as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation for Melissa will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane, followed by burial at Restland Cemetery.
