Melissa Isabel "Grandmama" Hendley

Melissa Isabel Hendley “Grandmama” left this earth to be with the Lord August 4th, 2011. Born August 11th, 1923 Grandmama lived a full and happy life in Dallas, TX. She was a devoted wife to Ray Hendley, and an adored mother of 4. Grandmama received great pleasure from her children, whom she loved dearly, her 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her home was always the focal point of the family, and she enjoyed providing all she could to those she loved or those in need. She touched the lives of many, and will be missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Hendley and infant daughter Linda. She is survived by sons Paul Hendley and wife Debbie of DeKalb, Ill., and Gary Hendley of Dallas; daughter Judy Hendley Waldie and husband Jimmy of Rockwall; grandchildren Kevin Hendley and wife Loretta of DeKalb, Ill., Melisa Hendley Southworth and husband Bryan of Rockwall, Kelli Hendley Turner and husband Jeff of Rowlett, Carrie Hendley of DeKalb, Ill., Chris Hendley of Rowlett, Andrew Waldie of Rockwall, Keith Hendley of Dekalb, Ill., and Alex Waldie of Rockwall. Her 6 great grandchildren Faith, Luke and Lilly Hendley of Dekalb Ill., Brynden and Emma Southworth of Rockwall, and Avery Turner of Rowlett. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Interment, Grove Hill Memorial Park. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
