Michael Lynn Boothman was born in Kingsville, TX on February 6, 1951 to Herschel Lynn Boothman and Billie Beth Boothman as their first born child. When Michael was 9, his mother died from breast cancer. Five years later his father died from a heart attack. He and his two sisters were the raised by their aunt and uncle, Louise and Bryan Pawlik. He graduated in May 1972 with a BA and in 1973 with an MA in Education from Austin College in Sherman, TX. Later he attended East Texas State University where he earned a Masters in Counseling and received his certificate as a Licensed Professional Counselor. He began his 30 year career as a psychotherapist in Dallas, TX. Michael and Phillip Woody met in 1984 and began their journey of being family. Michael celebrated being welcomed into the Woody family and Phil celebrated being welcomed into the Boothman family. Michael retired from his practice in June 2010, shortly after his diagnosis with Alzheimer’s disease.
