Knuths, Michael Scott Died on December 13, 2017. He was born on April 30, 1936 in Ames, Iowa to Michael Frederick Knuths and Mary Emma Parsons. He graduated from Ames High School in 1954, enrolled in the U.S. Army and served in the Tank and Armor Unit in Germany. He was a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder where he met Lois, his wife of 48 years. Upon his graduation from the University of Michigan Law School, Michael and Lois moved to Lubbock where he was employed by McWhorter, Cobb and Johnson. After a move to Dallas, Michael and partners founded the law firm of Allen, Knuths and Cassell where he remained until retiring in 1989. Michael was a 45-year member and past President of the Dallas Gun Club where he made many lifelong friendships. His passion for competitive shooting took him around the world. Michael was predeceased by his wife, Lois, siblings Keith, Carroll, Robert, Clare, Carita, Cleo, Ruth, Tami, Toni, Connie, Wink and grandson Kevin Nealon. Surviving children include Sharon K. Egger and Diane K. Nealon, both of Dallas, and Susan K. Bonner of Westport, CT. Randy Egger, John (Jack) Nealon, Jr., and Henry Bonner are surviving sons-in-law. Surviving grandchildren include Lauren and Ryan Egger, John III, Kara, Sarah, and Gracie Nealon, Giles, Thomas, and Oliver Bonner. Surviving great-grandchildren include Lila and John Nealon IV. He is survived by sisters Ann Buck (Bob) and Darlene Walton, in-laws Bette and Bill Wescoat, Linda and Glenn Gidel as well as many nieces and nephews. Michael will be deeply missed but always with us in our hearts. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Saint Michael and All Angels Church, 8011 Douglas Ave. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
