Michael Wynne Morris, beloved uncle and friend, passed away after a brief illness on January 19, 2016. He was born April 19, 1944, to Henry and Jerry Jane Morris. He was a graduate of Austin College and received his MBA at Southern Methodist University. Preceded in death by his parents as well as his sisters Jerry Foster and Melissa Johnston, he is survived by his niece Jerry Jane Wynne Jackson and her husband Sean Jackson, and his nephews Craig Walling and Christopher Walling.
Michael maintained a long and prosperous career in the restaurant industry where he owned and operated Restaurant Jonathan in the French Quarter for many years. He was an accomplished pianist and was invited to play at the White House. Michael also had a very strong faith and was active in his church. He will be remembered as a kind hearted and generous man who loved music, old movies and God.
Reverend George Willcox Brown will officiate at a memorial service to be held on Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00 am at Church of the Holy Cross, 4052 Herschel Avenue, Dallas, Texas, 75219. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
