Michael Allen “Mickey” St. Clair, 77 passed from this life on February 20, 2021 in Dallas, Tx. He was born in Dallas to Angela Pfeffer St. Clair and Harold St. Clair on August 12, 1943. Mickey married the love of his life, Chere Houck St. Clair, on December 12, 1964. The couple had two children and four grandchildren. Mickey’s career spanned multiple decades and included accounting, real estate and construction before working in manufacturing management for several years. After retirement, Mickey spent much of his time following the many activities of his children and grandchildren, always available as a willing spectator, driver, cheerleader and mentor for ballgames, golf tournaments, school plays and equestrian events.
Throughout Mickey’s life, much of his spare time was spent with family and friends and he truly enjoyed doing things for others. If anyone needed a ride to practice, or help with a household task, Mickey would be there in a moment with a helping hand and a willing heart. He always valued life experiences over personal possessions and enjoyed travel with Chere, family and friends, often to places he never would have imagined going.
At the root of Mickey’s many endearing qualities was a kind and gentle spirit that enabled people to feel comfortable and at ease around him. With an engaging smile and disarming sense of humor he had an innate ability to listen without judgement and help people put things into proper perspective. Mickey was typically very frugal in his own needs, but most generous when it came to the wants and needs of others. That generosity extended beyond his family and friends to anyone he dealt with, from service providers to waitstaff. For his family, Mickey provided constant support by always championing their endeavors by his presence, words, coaching, and often financial sacrifices. Mickey’s passion was ensuring that his children achieved higher education and he believed his greatest accomplishment was providing an environment where they, and future generations of his family could grasp the opportunities ahead of them.
Mickey is preceded in death by his father, Harold and his mother, Angela. Angela’s example of faith, compassion and service provided a guiding light for Mickey throughout his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Chere; children and their spouses, Kristina and Doug Barrington, Michael and Anissa St. Clair; Grandchildren, Erin Barrington, Luke Barrington, Michael J. St. Clair and Sophie St. Clair; and brother, Walter St. Clair. Mickey’s presence on this earth will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. However, we will take comfort in the wonderful life Mickey lived and the joy he brought to others.
