Mikel Eiline Griffing

Mikel Eilene Griffing, 83, of Mesquite, TX, peacefully passed away on January 6, 2025. Born February 23, 1941, in McAlister, Oklahoma to Claud and Erma Dedmon Rariden, Mikel brought joy to the world with her warm spirit and unwavering faith.

Mikel's life was a testament to love, family, and service. She married the love of her life, Charles T. Griffing, on April 22, 1969. As a dedicated professional, she excelled in her career at Mayflower Insurance, where she served as a respected Office Manager.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Mikel found deep fulfillment in her faith as a loyal member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord and spreading kindness to all she encountered. Mikel was known for her unwavering strength and wisdom, always imparting valuable lessons of generosity and compassion.

Mikel's passion for family was boundless. The birth of her daughter, Cindy, was a source of immense pride. She cherished her role as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, creating cherished memories with her children, Cynthia Drew King and Michael P. and Donna Griffing, grandchildren Michelle and Alfie Cetina, James T. and Sarah Alexander, Lacey and Nathan Morrow, Jackie and Eric Wilson, and great-grandchildren Tristan, Madeline, Kelsey, Lane, Adan, Phillip, and Beau.

Mikel's interests were varied and vibrant. She enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, finding solace in fishing and hunting. Her creative spirit shone through in her love for crafts, and her culinary talents blessed many with her delicious baked goods.

Mikel will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will forever remain in our hearts.

A visitation for Mikel will be held on Wednesday, January 15th at 11:00am at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Mesquite, Texas followed by a funeral service at 12:00pm. Burial to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Cornerstone Baptist Church, a place that was very dear to Mikel's heart, would bring her great joy.
