Mildred Evelyn Kieschnick Haedge: Born February 13, 1924 in Paige, Texas, near Manheim in Lee County. She went to be with the Lord at the age of 98 on June 23, 2022 in Dallas, Texas after a brief illness. She grew up in Austin, Texas and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church and school. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1945 with a BA in English and she remained an avid UT fan all of her life. She married Glendower Otto Haedge in 1946 and moved to Dallas. They were blessed with 68+ years of marriage and raised 3 children. She worked for Magnolia Oil Company, was a homemaker for her family, and served as church secretary for Grace Lutheran church in Oak Cliff for many years. When her children were young she participated in school events and was a Cub Scout leader. After retirement, Glen and Mildred were active members of the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), volunteering many hours at the VA hospitals in Dallas and Bonham. They also delivered Meals-On-Wheels. They moved from Oak Cliff to CC Young Retirement Community in 2006. Her greatest joys were spending time with her extended family and watching classic movies. A lifelong Lutheran, she was an active member of three Lutheran churches in Dallas: Trinity, Grace, and Bethel.
She was preceded in death in 2015 by her husband, Glen. Survivors include: daughter, Barbara Neumann; sons, David (wife Risa), and Randy (wife Cathy); 6 granddaughters: Heather Barnes (husband JonPaul), Crystal Wacker (husband Ryan), Zoe Nord (husband Ian), Kylin Lee (husband Aaron), Miranda Afsharirad (husband David) and Christiana Sherrill (husband Noah); 8 great-grandchildren: Beckett Barnes, Anneliese and Henry Wacker, Sam and Ruby Lee, and Harlan, Elwood and Vera Afsharirad; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on July 8 at 10:00 am at Bethel Lutheran Church, 11211 E. Northwest Hwy, Dallas. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 9:00 am. Interment to follow at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery on July 12 at 10:15 am.
Memorials may be made in honor of Mildred to Bethel Lutheran Church.
