Was born to Dr. R. L. and Lelia Ferguson on March 17, 1910 in Green Ridge, MO. She married Donald E. Stewart in 1930 and they were married nearly 79 years when he died on his 100th birthday in 2009. Both were devoted parents, Christians, and laborers together for our Lord. Mildred departed her earthly abode for her heavenly home and met her Lord and her beloved husband there on March 31, 2012. They had lived in Dallas since 1947. Mildred is remembered for her gentle spirit as well as her steadfast faith in the Lord and her love for those around her which drew not only her children but grandchildren and great-grandchildren into a close relationship with her. She is survived by two loving daughters, Nancy (Rev. Douglas) Pond and Donna (Rev. Jeff) Cheatham. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren-Sharon Hollon, Jack Pond, Randall Pond, Amy Carr, Janet Sinks, Paul Cheatham, and Russell Cheatham--16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. Her children arise up, and call her blessed. A woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised." A graveside service will be at Grove Hill on Wednesday, April 4 at 10:30 am. Her sons-in-law Rev. Jeff Cheatham and Rev. Douglas Pond will officiate. If you wish to remember her, the family requests donation to Gideons International in lieu of flowers
