Born in Kaufman, Texas, she grew up on a farm with her 8 siblings. In early adulthood she moved to Dallas and worked at Great American Reserve Life Insurance Company. It was in Dallas that she met the love of her life at a dance at the Czech Hall. Her greatest source of pride and joy was her 5 daughters and their families. She was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church for over 50 years. She was a devoted Catholic, reciting the rosary daily with her family, even reciting prayers and the rosary in her final days. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, sewing and fishing. In later years, especially as her mobility faltered, she could be found at her desk happily working on her coloring pages, especially flower and Christmas images.
The family wishes to thank the staff and many caregivers at Ventana by Buckner which has been her home for the past two years and Freedom Hospice who provided loving care.
Visitation will take place at Calvary Hill Funeral Chapel on Monday, December 19th, with a Rosary beginning at 12:00 noon followed by a funeral Mass and interment at 1:00 p.m. with Msgr. Milam Joseph officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution be made in her honor to Catholic Charities of Dallas at www.ccdallas.org.
