After a rich, full life, our precious mother, Minerva (Minnie) Acosta, 71, passed away on February 7 in North Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on February 8, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, to Augustine G. Jacinto and Herminia Arrambidez. Minerva was raised in Dallas, Texas, where she enjoyed playing tetherball, hula-hoop, jacks, and penny candy with her seven siblings. She grew up in West Dallas, where she attended church and CCD at St. Mary of Carmel Church and attended Benito Juarez, Sidney Lanier, and Crozier Technical High School. Minerva was an independent, loving free-spirited soul who loved and cared for her family, friends, and the stranger in need. Her life was filled with family, friends, laughter, a love for beautiful things, good music, food, good movies, and novelas. Minerva had a strong love and faith in God. A Breast cancer survivor. She retired from working in the Kroger deli and bakery for 15 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Augustine Jacinto, Sr., and Herminia Arrambidez Jacinto, and brothers Augustine Jacinto Jr., Fernando Jacinto, her loyal Schnauzer Emmett. We only imagine she was greeted with so much love.
She is survived by son Roy (Michelle) Barrera, daughter Dora (Alberto) Garcia, and daughter Patricia (Rey) Puente. Grandchildren Jess (Ashley) Kistler, Marcello Barrera, Dominic Barrera, and Brianna Barrera. Great-granddaughter Claire and a soon-to-be great-granddaughter. Former spouse Epifanio Acosta. Siblings Margarita (Raul) Conde, Raymond Jacinto, Roberto Jacinto, Belinda (Daniel) Gonzalez, and Ricardo Jacinto. And many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. And her loyal Chiweenie Ellie.
