She was born in Greenview, TX on September 30, 1925 and graduated from Sulphur Springs High School. She went on to marry F.M. Young on December 15, 1945 .
Miriam worked for many years in Retail Merchandising for J. C. Penney. She was a member of PTA, and active with Senior Saints and Bulletin Buddies at Cypress Bible Church. She also had a passion for crocheting for patients at MD Anderson Hospital and assisted living facilities. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren along with cooking and serving others with kindness and love.
She is survived by her daughter Donna K. James, her son-in-law Larry M. James, her grandchildren Matthew E. James and Nicole James Loernitzo and her great grandchildren Tanner James, Jacob James, Kendall James, Noah and Alena Loernitzo, Ben and Sarah Loernitzo. Ian Loernitzo, Kai Loernitzo, Maik Preinsperger, and Zoey Preinsperger. Miriam was recently blessed with her great, great grandson, Arthur Loernitzo. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, along with many extended family and friends!
A Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 9, 2026 at 10 AM at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd Dallas, TX 75228. Burial will follow the service at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
