

Mouzon Bass Jr. of Dallas, Texas passed away on March 20th 2014 in Dallas, Texas after a long illness with Alzheimer’s. He was born August 29th 1935 in Palestine, Texas to the late Reverend Mouzon and Thelma Bass. He grew up in east Texas, played football for Tyler Junior College and graduated from SMU where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta. He was proud to have served in the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed his memberships at the Dallas Country Club and Brook Hollow Golf Club. He was a local and national leader in the insurance industry receiving many honors and awards for his accomplishments. His leadership and creative ideas and innovation in products and services were unparalleled in his time. The foundation he created during the 70’s and 80’s left a legacy that continues to thrive. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed the time spent with them at their school, sporting events and family celebrations. The most fun he had was traveling the world and playing golf with his loving wife of 53 years Nancy Wallace Bass. He is survived by his wife Nancy, his son Mouzon Bass III (Muzzy) and Karen Bass, their children Meika, Shae and Mouzon Bass IV (Niko), his daughter, Raguet Bass and her children Madeleine, Blake and Fisk Beckham. He is also survived by his brother, William Bass and wife Letty and his brothers-in-law, Gordon Wallace and wife Mary Anne and William K. Wallace and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 25th 2014 at 4:00 pm at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church 8011 Douglas Ave. Dallas, TX. 75225 with a reception in the church garden immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
