Myra Sue Duncan passed from this life on June 12, 2022, in Jenks, Oklahoma from Mesothelioma. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 14, 1947 to Jesse Cecil and Grace Mae (Claunch) Duncan in Dallas, Texas.
Myra earned her master's degree in Education from North Texas State University and was a Physical Educational teacher for both public and private schools and was very involved in fundraisers at those schools. Myra retired from teaching after 33 years. Being an avid sports fan her whole life, after retirement she worked for the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Mavericks in the suites and was very excited about her conversations with Nolan Ryan.
She loved going to Bossler City, Louisiana to play slots with her friends of many years, had a love for animals, was a Dallas Cowboys fan, an avid collector of sports memorabilia and enjoyed cross stitching which she won several awards at the Texas State Fair.
She was a daughter, a sister, a great friend, and a one of a kind Aunt to her many nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews taking them on fun trips and spending summers eating snow cones and watermelon.
Myra was preceded in death by her mother and father, Grace Mae and Jesse Cecil Duncan. Myra is survived by her sister Rheau Neil Cramsey, Jenks, OK; brother John C. Duncan, Dallas, TX; Niece Gina Miller, Duncan, TX. Myra's family also includes many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Myra also has many cousins most of which live in East Texas.
A a celebration of life for Myra will be held Friday, July 8, 2022 from 2:00 PM.
