Myrtle Marie McDonald joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, January 11, 2016. She was born on November 27, 1923 in Archer City, Texas to Robert Lonzo and Myrtle Maple Alcorn. Marie loved her family and friends. Marie was married to her husband, Alva, for forty seven years until his death in 1994.
Marie was a devoted Christian whose faith shined to everyone she met. She loved people and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Marie had a passion for painting and was well known for her portraits.
Marie was a stewardess for Braniff before working for Dallas Independent School District as a caseworker and legal secretary.
Marie is survived by her sons; Richard McDonald and his wife Jeani, Robert McDonald and his wife Michele, daughters; Susan and Gary Theda and Cynthia Barron, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services celebrating Marie’s life will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
