Dallas was her home most of her life. She attended elementary, junior high and high school in Dallas, graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1963. She then attended Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond, Oklahoma, starting in 1963 and graduating in 1967 with a Bachelor’s degree in education. She spent summers at Camp Wyldewood in Searcy, Arkansas, as a counselor teaching crafts. Nancy was an excellent third grade teacher for many years at Christian Academy of Oak Cliff in Dallas. The children loved her. After leaving Christian Academy, she worked at a travel agency for several years (referring to it as the “travel circus”). She returned to teaching as a substitute teacher for several years at Alex Sanger Elementary near her home while she cared for her ailing parents.
Nancy had a great life, traveling the USA and to other parts of the world, mainly London (7 times), other parts of Europe and Hawaii. She loved life and had a quirky, witty sense of humor. She was always fun to be around. Her hobbies were photography and writing. She adored her dogs and won contests as a young girl, teaching tricks to her dog. She was on a local television program with her show dog.
Nancy was definitely one of a kind and certainly will be missed by her many friends.
