Nancy McCullough Bennett passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 83, in Dallas, Texas, after a long illness. She was born on November 1, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Harold and Glenna McCullough. She spent her early years in Fort Worth and Dallas. When she was 7 years old, she met Stanley “Sonny” Bennett, Jr. at church. They grew up together, and married on March 16, 1962. Together they raised three daughters: Cyndi, Amy, and Lori.
Nancy was a gifted administrator, studying English, Psychology, and Human Resource Management. Through her early marriage and motherhood, she used her skills as a homemaker, volunteer, and employee. After her daughters were older, she pursued her career as a legal administrator with several Dallas law firms for more than 30+ years before she retired.
Above all, Nancy was a strong woman of faith. She was a loving wife and mother, a loyal, caring friend, and a wise and witty leader. She will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice and how she always had a song for every occasion. She loved spending time with Sonny, her family, close friends, and her dogs! She loved reading and cooking, but one of her favorite things was traveling the world with Sonny!
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Glenna McCullough, and her brother Melvin McCullough.
Nancy is survived by Stanley “Sonny” Allen Bennett, Jr., her husband of 63 years; daughters Cyndi Roberts (married to Dave), Amy Kitchen, and Lori Bennett. She is also survived by her grandchildren Amber Bartlett (married to Bryon), Erika Jackson (married to Jacob), Sunni Allen (married to Austin), Brandi Roberts, Christina and Grant Kitchen, Hollis and Reuben Akins; and her great-grandchildren, Simon, Ellie, and Felix Jackson, and Lincoln and Natalie Allen, as well as her siblings-in-law Jan Giannatala (married to Vini), Kyle Bennett (married to Lori) and Geneva “Jeannie” McCullough (married to the late Melvin McCullough).
