Nancy O Rutledge

With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Nancy Jean Olds Rutledge, who entered into eternal rest on July 27, 2026, in Sugar Land, Texas.

Nancy was born on January 16, 1940, in Dallas, Texas, to John R. Olds and Ola C. Olds. Raised with strong values of faith, kindness, and compassion, she carried those qualities throughout her life, touching the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Nancy devoted many years of her career to Northwest Bible Church, where her work reflected her servant’s heart and unwavering dedication to others. Following her retirement, she continued to live a life centered on faith, family, and generosity.

Nancy spent most of her life in Dallas, Texas, where she made lasting memories and lifelong friendships. She proudly made history as the first Homecoming Queen of Highland Park High School and later attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a proud member of Delta Delta Delta (Tri Delta) sorority.

Above all else, Nancy cherished her family. Her greatest joy came from the time spent with those she loved, creating treasured memories that will live on for generations. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John R. Olds and Ola C. Olds; her brother, Jack Olds; her son, John David Rutledge; and her daughter, Lynda Kirby.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted son, Dan Rutledge of Sugar Land, Texas; her beloved daughter-in-law, Martha Rutledge; her grandchildren, Daniel Rutledge and wife Elizabeth Rutledge, Patrick Rutledge, Anna Rutledge, Cole Kirby and wife Anna Kirby, Lacy Kirby; and her four cherished great-grandchildren, Hattie Jarvis, Joey Jarvis, Nathaniel Kirby, and Charles Rutledge. She also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed by her love, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Nancy’s life was a testament to quiet strength, enduring grace, and selfless love. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her compassion, her steadfast faith, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is at peace and forever held in God’s loving embrace.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to those who lovingly cared for Nancy in her later years. Special thanks go to the Abello Family, the Kirby Family, Dr. Joe and Geraldine Galati, and the devoted women who provided exceptional care when family members could not be there. Sandra, her dear friend and caregiver for nearly ten years, held a special place in Nancys life. The family is also deeply grateful to Carolina, Berna, Peggy and Viola for their unwavering love, kindness and support.

Thank you for brightening our lives, Mom, Nonnie, and Nancy. Your love, laughter and generous spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
