Nancy Carroll Wilshusen was born on December 12, 1926, and passed away on March 26, 2021. Her husband of 58 years, Eiband Wilshusen, her parents, Grace and Leggeth Carroll, and her sister, Betty Wilson, predeceased her. She is survived by her son, Bill Wilshusen and wife Tiffa, and two daughters, Sue Porter and husband Jeff, and Katy Allen and husband Scott. She also leaves eight grandchildren: Will Wilshusen (Elizabeth), Robert Wilshusen (Kelly), Molly Hunt (Robert), Maggie Lee (Danny), Callie Kinney (Blake), Meredith Gallagher (Patrick), Allyson Cheesman (fiancé Kyle Billington), and John Cheesman, and twelve great grandchildren.
Nancy was born and raised in her beloved hometown of Austin, Texas, graduating from Austin High and the University of Texas. She bled Burnt Orange and White and was a lifelong Longhorn fan. Following her wedding, she and Eiband moved to Galveston, Texas, where they lived for 10 years. In 1959, they made their permanent home in Dallas. Nancy’s life was devoted to her husband, children and extended family. For many years she and Eiband hosted a Christmas Eve dinner, which brought family and close friends together. She enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking, watching movies and needlework of all kinds.
The family would like to thank Olivia Soria and Gabby Garcia for their loving care during the past several years. A small, private family service to celebrate Nancy’s life and her arrival and reunion with her husband in heaven (where Eiband is likely serving her a Dewars and water on a silver tray) will take place in the next several weeks. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Nancy to either the Salemanship Club of Dallas, 106 E. 10th Street, Suite 200, Dallas, Texas, 75203-2296 or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, Texas, 75219.
