It was with much sadness, that I learned of the passing of my dear friend and co-worker, for many years, Nell Brown! We worked together, at the Oak Cliff Constables Office, in Dallas County, for over twenty years. We traveled together, for Certified Officers Training courses, to several different counties in Texas. Our first trip, is the one that stands out in my memory.  I believe it was in Austin. When we got to the hotel, Nell told me  she had never checked into a hotel herself. She said Joe B always took care of that for them. I said to her, "Nell, we are big girls now, and we can do this." and we did. We laughed and talked about that for years. The very last times Nell and I talked to each other we discussed that conversation along with one where we sat on the little brick wall in front of the Oak Cliff Courthouse, waiting for Joe B to pick us up. We would talk about some of our memories and each time we recited something funny, we would laugh and slap our knees. Nell would often say that we needed to go to lunch and go by that little brick wall and slap our knees. I am so sorry that we never got to do that, partially because of the Covid-19, Pandemic.  Rest in Peace, Sweet Nell Brown. Until we meet again, thank you for giving me some wonderful memories. I will miss you more than anyone will ever know! Colene Reed.
