One of ten children, she was born on April 30, 1921, in Hardin County, Tennessee, to Effie Mae Hardin and John Mitchell Young. When she was a young child, the family moved to the Dallas area, where she lived most of her life. She worked at Merchants Retail Credit for many years, of which she was very proud.
Nettie married Frank Rose on January 15, 1941, and had four daughters. Nettie was an excellent gardener, part of the Garden Club and an avid bridge player.
She is preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, four sisters and five brothers.
Nettie is survived by her children: Jeanne Patterson, Sue Anne Todaro (husband Nick), Pamela Maria Cosby (husband Terry) and Kim Helene Rose; 9 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
The Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on May 11, 2018, in Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to Notre Dame of Dallas would be greatly appreciated in honor of Kim Rose and Mia Patterson.
