He was a follower of Christ, artist, poet, comedian, musician, lover of nature and always in awe of God's creation. Staff Sgt. Salas was a soldier to the very end. After a 14 year battle with prostate cancer, our Lord finally called him home. He fought bravely for our country and fought his cancer valiantly, with dignity and without complaint. He was surrounded in love by all 8 children, grandchildren and his beautiful wife of 58 years during his last few hours here on earth. He taught us to love unconditionally and to never go to bed angry. His last instructions to his children were to, "love one another as I have always loved you."
