NORMA JOYCE JONES
Norma Joyce Jones was born to the parentage of Elex and Eva Booker on August 8, 1930, in Karnack, Texas. She was the oldest of nine children. She received her primary education from the Beckham School in Baldwin, Texas. Norma accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life and was baptized at Collier Chapel Baptist Church in Baldwin, TX.
Norma married late J.D Jones in Karnack, Texas. Their union produced two children, Bertha and Robert. Norma moved to Dallas in the late 1950’s, where she met and married the late William Zeno. Norma’s church affiliation at the Ebenezer Memorial Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A.D. Smith, Pastor. She was a former member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church,
under the late Reverend Tommy Brown. She was a faithful member until her health began to deuterate.
She loved her church and her church family, where she served on the usher board.
In the early hour on January 21,2025, God called Norma home from this labor of life to her eternal reward. She will always be known for her cheerful laugh, her radiant smile, her helpfulness, her thoughtfulness but most of all, her joyful spirit. She loved children and they loved her back. She always put a smile on your face and laughter in your hearts. God Blessed her to live 94 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Elex and Eva Booker, two sisters, Bernice Reed and Ozzie Webb, four brothers, Willie C. Booker, T.J. Booker, Tommy Booker, and Alex Booker, and grandson Adrian Beard.
Matriarch of five generations, Norma leaves to cherish her memories, son Robert Jones; two daughters, Bertha Beard (Jerry), Karetta Mosley and bonus daughter Shegayle Wilson; two sisters, Margaret Jackson (Morris) and Renia McBay (Leon); two grandsons, Roderick and Kervin Beard; twelve great grandchildren, Ashely, Roderick II, Jordan, Adrianna, Jaron, Faith and Hope, David, Nikki, Tamesha, Dominque, Tiffany; 16 great-great grandchildren, Ayden, Jayden, Aylee, Haven, Kayd, Ashton, Logan, Ava, and Ashley II, Deuntrae, Alijah, Keli, Kenedy, Kerry, Kelsey, Ariyanah and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other
relatives/friends to cherish her memory.
