Norma LaDean Thomas Pitts

LaDean was born at the family home in Cumberland, Marshall County, Oklahoma on March 30, 1923 to loving parents, Dewey Lee Thomas and Oney Mae Pool Thomas. She was also welcomed by older siblings Cecilia Mae, Cora Lee, and Grady Dowell. Over the years, younger siblings Eugene Jackson, Betty Ruth, Mary Frances, Robert Raymond, and Clarice Delia rounded out the family.

After moving to Dallas, LaDean attended Maple Lawn Elementary School and Crozier Tech High School. At Tech, she was the Class Treasurer and in the Pep Squad before becoming Head Majorette.

After graduation, LaDean went to work at the First National Bank of Dallas. While employed at the bank, she met a handsome, fun loving young employee named James. They fell in love and eloped to Rockwell, Texas on March 28, 1942.

Over the years, they were blessed with 15 Grandchildren: Janet Roberson Perry, Kelly Roberson, Julie Roberson Gaulden, Michelle Pitts Klabukov, Lori Roberson Raymond, Tiffany Taylor, Dr. James Pitts, Joshua McAdams, Shayna Lyles Williams, Megan Pitts, Chase Lyles, Kara Lyles, Logan Lyles, Luke Lyles, and Jennifer Wise Ekmark and additionally 15 Great Grandchildren.
