Mary and Dominic:

Thank you so much for the honor of being invited to celebrate Oliver’s life.  He was an extraordinary man of integrity, patience, and kindness.  He exhibited the rare characteristic of being a true nurturer.  It was, therefore, most fitting that the two of you provided the ultimate care-giving, love, and attention for him in his most vulnerable times.  I was able to attend the two events at Laureland on May 27th and 28th, 2021. I also met some of the individuals Oliver worked with while serving as a Substance Abuse Counselor at the Salvation Army in Dallas, Texas.   I appreciate the opportunity to share and be a part of the group giving praise, honor,  and thanks for the life and legacy of “Big O”!  He will forever remain a fixture in the hearts and memories of all who loved him so very much.  I wish fond memories and many blessings for Oliver’s treasured granddaughter, Naomi.  I know she will miss him terribly, but will receive the solace and comfort needed from you and her extended family.  May Oliver rest in well-deserved and earned peace.  Please let me know of any help that I can offer you during this period of tremendous grief and the lengthy season of emotional  adjustment.

Mr.Oliver apart from his official capacity with the Texas Rangers was a very kind and friendly person to me and most employees .He will leave his office just to have a friendly chat with staff members, he was kind and generous.He personally offered me guidance and advice. We are all going to miss him. Condolences to his family and friends.

Always displayed good neighborly input. Always willing to share helpful information that's might solve the problem  (s) you are seeking. A soft spoken individual with deep rooted convictions. OLIVER STRICKLAND was a GOOD and WISE man. He will be missed. Though Love one's pass away, their memories live on in our hearts. Love you Mary and know that we are only a telephone call away.

I met Oliver in 1990, shortly thereafter working in the ticket office with the Rangers. We bonded so quickly and remained good friends ever sense. His smile, sense of humor, generosity and wonderful conversations is what I will remember the most. He loved his family and loved the game but above all loved Jesus the most. I will never forget what a wonderful friend you were to me and how great you were to my son and entire family. I am heartbroken to see you go but delighted I will see you again. 

It was a true honor and privilege to work with Big O during my four year tenure at the Texas Rangers. I got to have many great conversations with Oliver and hear so many amazing stories. Thank you for always being a great colleague, but above that an even greater friend. You will be missed Big O!

Oliver will be greatly missed. He was my friend and I thought highly of him and him of me. He is already missed but his memory will remain. God bless his soul and God bless and comfort all his family and friends.

Oliver,  we have worked together with the Rangers, since I started in 2012.  You were always a friend and mentor to me.  You were loved and admired by many.  You will be missed by me.  Rest easy my friend.  God Bless🙏🏼
