He grew up in Dallas attending Forest Avenue High School. Omer followed in his father’s footsteps as a craftsman photo engraver and lithographer during his 50+ years in commercial printing. He also attended First Baptist Church of Dallas.
Omer loved boating, fishing, gardening, as well as, tennis and golf.
Preceding Omer in death were his parents, Omer H. Steele Sr. and Ella Mae Arms and child, Richard Michael Steele.
Omer is survived by; wife, Bobbie Murdoch Steele; children, Pamela Liebrum and husband, Kit Liebrum, Carmen Renee Sanders; sister, Marilyn Wassell; grandchildren, Andrea Hedrick, Aaron Liebrum, Jamie Liebrum and Luanne Sanders Wilson. He had four great-grandchildren; Jesse Liebrum, Kennedy Hedrick, Shelby Wilson and Slade Liebrum.
